Really High Idle?

Hey could use some help. I gotta really high idle whenever I start up my car and then after about 5 minutes of driving it will go crazy. Like it should start out at the 1 on the tach, but instead it starts on the 2. Then whenever I stop at a stop sign or red light it will start revings slowly from 1.5 to almost 3. It cant be good for my car. Just could use some insight on my issue. Thanks.

Hmmm...bad O2 sensor? I'm probably wrong, but checking it doesn't hurt though.

shouldnt be an o2 sensor because when you are at low RPMs the ECU is in a preset "loop" and bypasses the sensors. Maybe something like dirty injectors, bad gas, or even bad spark plugs could be the problem. If it's during driving conditions then it could be the MAF sensor.

this is prob useless, but have you tried to reset the ECU by untying the negative ternimal on the battery?

i've had this happen to me a few times...its the thing on the bottom of the throttle body...i think its the idle-air control valve or something like that...my EG did it twice already and i had to buy new ones....

Idle air control seems like a good place to start. and i thought it was in closed loop all the time, at work when i use the scan tool, its in closed loop no matter what if the vehicle is warmed up... are hondas diffrent?
