Rebuild or Swap?

I just recently bought a 91 civic 3 door. It has the 1.5 liter (d15a I believe?) I am staring my preliminary plans for the motor. I wanted to get some ideas from you guys since I have never rebuilt a Honda yet? I want to get the best HP, but I am not looking to race, just for fun and show. Money is important, I am a family man, so I need to have this economical also. So, here is the question, should I rebuild the 1.5 with strong internals and better head/cams etc. or should I just do a d16ZC swap? Which will get me the best bang for the buck and be the easiest also?

to rebuilt will at least be 1500-3000 grand to rebuild with performance parts v/s you can get a da16z6 swap with everything for about 700 bucks

or inmy case, you start with a swap, then decide.. well as long as its out, cam, springs, head resurface, valve seats..... 4,000.00 later im still workin on it

D16 why rebuild an old worn out motor when you can get one with 30-50 thousand on it for under 1,000.

D15 is a good motor to turbo (talk to Nail about this) but that's what I hear, so personally I'd rebuild and turbo.

RE: Rebuild or Swap?

I have been just looking for a swap engine, I found this one at the following website, http://www.sunrisejdmmotors.com/honda.php It is number 8 in the list. It is a D16ZC, Is this a good choice for my 91 civic hatch? I would like to get about 200 - 250 hp out of this engine. Could anyone tell if this is possible. I notice in a swap guide that this is a easy swap with little modification.
