Should I replace?

95 Civic DX 2 door w/ 1.5
car has 275000 original miles and is still going strong. Friend said I need to replace engine because his went out at 290000. He raced his and dogged it. I baby mine. Should I replace it? He said to put an integra motor in. Is this a common swap?

RE: Should I replace?

yes. very common swap. B18C1 is almost a drop in except for a few small things.

yeah...getting up in that range you may wanna consider looking into engines. like i know of a lot of hondas that have gotten well into 300000 stock, but thats about the limit. im ont saying you should like panic and go out and buy one right now...but you may want to start looking around and saving up a little bit.

Yea, I agree. The motor is getting up there in age, start saving up for a swap.

I would run the things until it dies, which depending on how much you drive, could be a while, and while youre running that engine, save up for a GSR(B18C1) swap, about 3000 bucks. Honda engines can handle a lot, but any car that gets THAT many miles is going to go up to motor heaven before too long.

You would also love a gsr swap alot more then your stock motor.

U got an auto or manual trans? Swapping auto to manual can be a bear of a job, or so ive heard.
