Default should I trust it?

I got a guy in Ontario, Cali...that is gonna send me a d15b for $450, I have to go and check it out first. I was wondering how hard it is to do some internals on the engine. like cam shaft and gear, valve springs, head gasket, etc... I was gonna get a SIR complete swap for $350, but the v tech wasn't working and the guy wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for install. I really need to get an engine in and soon. I have an internal oil leak and I'm smokin. So any advice or links would be greatly appreciated, I need to be able to do it on my own. thx

that isn't a bad price, make sure it comes with the jdm ecu for that engine, a stock p28 won't run it to its full potential. and pistons would need to be custom because of the lower compression height. but i believe it uses standard d15 rods and its basically a d16z6 head.

Hey man, i know youve seen my ride, its a JDM D15B in it. I love it man! Good 9:6 compression, more agressive cam than z6. Granted parts are harder to find on the bottom side, but like ef4life said see if you can get the ECU for it. My p28 ran it ok, but it has much more to offer. But, now that i have it chipped for boost, it will open up EVERYTHING it has to offer. Bottom line, good choice.

The cam in your d15b is no more agressive than a Z6 cam. I know this for a fact. And that is only a good deal for that engine if it comes with the factory 5 speed lsd transmission and the P08 ecu

That's actually a decent price w/o the lsd. What did you pay for yours?

I got mine for $30 less than that shipped with a new water pump, timing belt, and belt tensioner.

The least they go for now shipped is 600-1000 w/o LSD. (I've been shopping around a lot lately for one.)
