i have a 00' dx non vtec and i was wondering if theres any good performance upgrades besides i/h/e

also the best bang for the buck - im a college student and money is limited

Hey welcome to HCF SlowDx.

Best bang for the buck (if you can do your own work) is the Mini-Me. That's putting a Vtec head on a non Vtec block. If you do all of the work yourself it can be done for ~ $400 and it should be good for around 25Hp.

yea i was thinking about that and i think i could do the work myself - but how difficult would the wiring be

bigger bang for the buck would be the nitrous route.....although i dont recomend it if you cant tune it or dont know someone who can. you figure $500 and you just bumped your self up at least 55hp.

in the end,nitrous isnt the cheapest route. between the kit, installation, and bottle refills, nitrous gets expensive fast.

performance chips are about $100- $150.00, are'nt they? and give more h.p. (this is more of a question than a statement) if you have already done the i/h/e. otherwise i dont think they do anything! (you said simple question!!!!)

bah. performance chips dont do much unless you have something big under the hood.
