Sleeving a block
 

I want to get my b16a block sleeved and i was wondering the price that most machine shops will charge. I know sleeves are $500-$700 but how much to actually get the sleeves put in.

$700 for sleeves? Damn I would shop around a bit before paying that. Expect around $150 to $200 to get them installed. BTW what are your goals cause I can about bet the sleeving will be over kill.

insurence is always worth it in my book.... i bet you are planning on at least running 25+psi of boost?

I can get sleeves for under $400 for any honda engine before shipping. A lil bit over $400 after shipping and a local machine shop dont charge hardly anything to install them.

My block already has low comp CP pistons and eagle rods. When the pistons and rods were getting installed the shop the owner asked if i wanted to get better sleeves put in too. At the time i didnt have enough money but now i finally do. I plan on running around 25lbs of boost on race gas. Im aimin for 500hp on race gas. I was looking on getting AEBS sleeves or darton. Any suggestions?

you shouldnt need race gas to make 500 whp. jus a good tune at 93 octane. me and my friend have a built b16 in out si's, except mine is bored .20 over.

we are both goin to run 375+ whp after break in and re-tuned on the dyno. thats on the stock sleeves.

ive been told that the stock sleeves in the b16's are good to over 400whp with a good tune.

unless ur goin for upper 500 -600 whp. i wouldnt htink you would need them for a daily driver but its insurance that you can have for yourself.

if i crack a sleeve in my b16 (b17 basically) im goin to resleeve mine and still drive it daily

I have 380whp on 93 octane. My tuner says the car can make 400 on pump gas but since my car is a daily driver i need to not push the limit. I would feel alot better having some insurance and putting in aftermarket sleeves.

400hp is pushing it really far for a streat daily driven car, wouldnt hardly have any traction first couple gears unless you have relaly sticky expensive tires..
