Slow response

Dont kno if this happend to you but this is the biggest prob wit my car ... i dont even kno how to explain it.
Well ok lets say you are driving normally then you floor it just for the heck of it. And your car does not respond but rpms are going up very slowly and so is your speed. Then you get off the gas wondering wtf and floor it again right after and you car takes off. Wat do you call that and how you fix it?
My car right now feels slow as hell. Old people are passing me and i floor it and cant catch them! It is running rich and my clutch i think is slipping( i cant even feel when it engages. Its like stepping into a pool of water.) Could this be the problem?

Thanks in advance
