Someone HELP ME!!!!!! (URGENT)

Hello all! I just got rid of my Mustang because i was getting tired of the typical egos that seem to come with the 8 cyclinder guys and decided to get into the import scene. Well to cut the story short i just bought a 95 civic that i am pretty sure has a d16y7 engine in it (i could be wrong i am new to this import deal) and i was wondering if i could purchase a new d16y7 crate engine or at least an engine with less that 500 miles on it, and if i could where would i go to look for these engines and a ballpark figure of price would be nice as well......THANKS TO ALL

You can, if you go to the dealership and bought one. Thousands of dollars. Guy I know just bough a transmission that was 1300 alone. Your best bet would be to buy a used one or rebuild yours. Why do you need a new motor? If you look just to the left of the header theres the code. look there and you'll know if you have a y7

It would be odd for a 95 to have a y7.Those came in the 96-00 Civics. It could have always been swapped in, of course. Since you want to swap in another engine, this is your chance to decide how much power and torque you want out of our stock engine.

What are you looking for in an engine, other than low mileage? (I don't know if you can find one with that low mileage unless it has been completely rebuilt.)

Here is a link to JDM Honda Motors: http://www.sunrisejdmmotors.com/man_engines.php?id=4

I suggest you go with a b18c. Then turbo it if you have the cash or you could get an h22. The h22's tho arent good for boost on a stock setup tho. They also sell all the stock d series motors.

yes, it would be odd for you to have the y7 in there.

why do you need a new engine, it'll be much more efficient to just use your current one. just throw a turbo on there with a proper tune for 2000 and you'll have 200+whp, more than any swap to a new d16 or a used b18 can get you for the money.

ps. since you're new to honda's then i'll let you know that stock civics usually come with d16 engines, only the 96-00 civic si came with a b16 engine, all the integra's come with b18 engines that have 140-200fhp that is easily swapped into your car. the h22 comes from a prelude vtec, it can also be swapped in fairly easily but won't sit in the exact stock position.

from my experience, sticking with the d16 will give you the most bang for the buck, cuz if you want more power, just rebuild the bottom end for roughly 600 and up the boost a lot more :D

ok thanks to all of you guys for your information! the reason i was looking at a new engine is because the one that is in the car has 200,XXX miles on it and i would like to build the engine up but there is no point in putting all that money into an engine that has such high mile.. maybe i will take you advice and justrebuild the engine...you said that i could get a rebuild for somewhere around $600 bucks right?! Hey do you guys have any recomendations for a engine rebuild shop in the St. Louis Missouri area!? THANKS AGAIN
