soon to be civic owner needs HELP!!!

looking to buy my friends 93 civic with 200k

http://www.myspace.com/kingtyson
(check pictures) (the last picture is most recent.)

he says that it revs by itself though.... "but it just needs like a new oxygen sensor" and "the tach doesn't work" he wants 700 for it.... I'm going to take a look at it tommorow... any tips for things I should look for...? how would I fix the tach and the revving problems???

I'd appreciate your help guys and hope to be a new member with this civic.

well, from a fellow newbs perspective, you might want to look a little more, but how much can you spend?

If the damn thing turns over it's worth $700.

How does it rev? Like a funny idle or if you don't shut it off it'll blow up? Does it have a check engine light?

its idles at like 3k..... check engine light is on.... no engine code (from what I can see...) and sometimes tach doesn't work...

he broke the oxygen sensor when installing new manifolds... I could see that it's missing could this play a role?

he said it started revving like that a month or two after the sensor broke.

after you hit like 10 -15 mph you don't even notice the revving.

any tips

help is appreciated very much thanks so far.

go for it... $700 isn't a lot. Also, I seriously doubt that the o2 sensor has anything to do with the high idle... my '94 EX idles around 800 or so (even with a stock o2 sensor that, according to my air/fuel ratio guage, needs replaced badly). Buy it and swap the engine to a B-series; end of idle problem.

Can't you adjust the rev idle?

Like take a screw driver and adjust it?
