Sooo lost help!!!!!
Ok guys heres the deal. I have a 98 d16y8 manual. When i go in reverse it bucks some. WHen im driving it fine until i hit 4th or 5th gear and cruising the car with jerk or sputter or buck until i let off the gas and hit it again and then its fine for a bit then does it again. Been told it could be my axles, my clutch (stage2 spec) which is brand new. ive done searches and tried some things here and there. Heres some background on the car.
Rebuilt d16y8 and turboed. vitara pistons and eagle rods stage 2 spec clutch cleaned the iac no vacuum leaks no second o2 sensor not exactly sure what i should have for spark plug gap, im running 7lbs on greddy kit with emanage. (dont hate on the emanage right now please) any ideas please helps this is getting annoying |
anyone? come on!

Is the CEL ON?
Have you inspected the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor? Is the ignition timing set to spec? |
Sounds like ignition to me as well check plugs wires cap and rotor.

In my experiences, honda 5-speeds buck in reverse if you don't work the clutch just right and don't give it the perfect amount of gas. Sounds normal to me.
I think the jerking while driving is a completely unrelated and separate issue. Could it be an AF ratio issue? |
The only time it bucks for me is if i let the rps drop way to low in first, and i touch the gas or same with Reverse.

check shift forks and synchs and your cv's for loss of grease, that cn cause a grinding noise.
|
the reason i brought up A/F ratio is because he's turbo'd and has e-manage and idk for all we know so far he might have not tuned it right (i'm not accusing him of not tuning it right, just stating based on the fact that we have so far we have no info contrary to that)
if he's running lean it could cause a problem similar to having low fuel pressure |
also you may not have a lot of backpressure so when you hit low r's it sputters. check for exhaust leaks maybe... :/
