sri bracket location
 

had an sri installed on my civic esi and my installer recommends to install the bracket that came with it, on the engine too so that it will "move" with the engine.

i have seen pictures where this bracket is actually attached to the body.

do any of these 2 locations make a difference?

not really, and you dont have to install that bracket, everything will be fine

i have mine jdm ducktaped XD haha, it dont have to be bracketed on, it will just vibrate and maybe tap the engine bay causing an annoying sound at an idle but it wont hurt nothing.

I had my bracket attaching it to the body... after 3 years, it eventually broke (I'd say the product quality had more to do with it than it being attached to the body), and I had no problems even after it broke. Basically, that tells me that the bracket really doesn't matter.

I have an ebay pipe and the bracket didnt fit right. It rattled something fierce so I made my own bracket with a big hose clamp and a bent coat hanger bolted to the chassis. looks incon****uous and serves its purpose well.

The bracket you speak of where it is bolted to the body is usually something like on an AEM intake, where there is a rubber bushing on the bracket's bolt that allows the intake to move a little bit.

not needed, dont trip op your intake and car will b fine without it. A little vibration never hurt no one lol
