i have a problem with my 93 civic HB 1.5L sometimes when i try to start my car it wont start alll you hear is a clicking almost like the battery is dead and theres not enough juice to start the engine? ill wait a min then try it again it will fire right up i have a brand new battery(optima)ithought it might be the starter. and replaced the ground wire and cleaned/replaced the connections. anyone could help me out with what might be wrong i would apreciate it. this also happend with the old battery!

RE: starting problem

what i am almost 99% sure it is the brass points inside the starter, it doesnt make good contact sometimes, it has to have a certain gap or else a current wont flow throught it, aka clicking noise.. either rebuild the starter or get a used one from a junkyard and i can 99% gaurentee it will not make that noise anymore:D:D

hope this helps
