Swap Options

Alright guys, heres the deal. My engine has about 150,000 miles and by next summer i will have around 2000 dollars to spend on a swap. Im not looking for any rediculous hp. 200 mabe? What would be some good dd swaps within that price range? What would you do if you were in my situation?
Thanks,
MccM

RE: Swap Options

for that price you should go with a boosted LS.

boost ls would cost more than 2k wouldnt it? you should go with a good b series swap. there is the b16a2, b18c1, b18c5 im not sure what the ls motor code is. some are close to 3k-4k as well.

Any good sites to find swaps? I can find any of those really within my price range on ebay. Should i mabe just look into a d series and perhaps boost? What would be a good d series swap?

www.sunrisejdmmotors.com

a GSR would be a bit out of his pricerange... as would be an ITR...and the SiR is just overpriced everywhere.

an LS swapped civic is good for low 14s all the way down to mid 13's if the driver knows what theyre doing. even without the boost you're looking at maybe a 1.2k swap and one hell of a car.

so what actually is the ls motor? is it a b18? or is it just that, ls.
Edit: What do you guys think about the D15B?

B18B is the LS motor.

D15B is a good motor. Marty has one.

the d15b is an awesome engine, but make sure you get the one with the black valvecover. black valvecover d15b is the first generation...92-95. the silver valvecover is the 2nd generation 3-stage vtec one.

What makes the first gen so much better than the second?
As of now, It seems like the d15b would best suit my needs because its pretty inexpensive(what should i look to be paying for a engine, tranny, and all that other good stuff) and, I could still have enough to possibly boost. How do those things handle boost?
