swap question
I am slowly browsing all the swap threads, and I see alot of people going for the z6 or y8 swaps from this D16Y7 I have.
I am curious though, is it possible to just pull the whole damn thing and throw a DOHC version in? And if so, what all would have to be replaced to do such a mega swap. It would be nice to retain some things, like the tranny and what not. I don't know alot about the swaps, but I know I want to look into them pretty hard. I have alot of learning to do on that end. |

ORIGINAL: Stumasters is it possible to just pull the whole damn thing and throw a DOHC version in? ORIGINAL: Stumasters It would be nice to retain the tranny to drop in a B-series motor you need a complete swap with a transmission, axles, shift linkage, mounts, ECU. Some wiring, depending on what motor you get. There's not a whole lot that carries over. here's a good place to start: https://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_10612/tm.htm also, this: http://www.phear7imports.net/subs/btroop/trey/6gen |
RE: swap question
awesome, It looks like I might just have to look into a trade to a car thats factory B series, but untilt then I will read up. I am sure I will want to upgrade it anyway.
I may end up swapping out the vtech head on this one, but I haven't completely decided if it would be in my best interest yet. Questions I must ponder over the next few months. |

(though it does suck for power) at least its a fuel efficient mofo also SOHC ftw! |
RE: swap question
I wonder if you could boost this one, and get a little extra pick-up.
It would probably be a wasted investment really, for such a small engine. |
