Plan on swapping a engine in a 95 Civic EX......Just don't know the route to go.

Plan 1
B18B with GSR tranny

Plan 2
B20B with GSR tranny

Is this possible and what parts would I need (engine, tranny of course...but what else)? and how much work is it going to be? If I go with Plan 1, in the future, I plan on doing a LS/Vtec engine.

B18B1: 142hp @ 6300 rpm & 127 ft·lbf @ 5200 rpm
B20B: [*]Power: 126hp @ 5500rpm[*]Torque: 133 ft @ 4200 rpm

both Non-VTEC....any reason you're picking non-VTEC engines? B16a2 swaps are fairly common....

 

id say go with the b20, but use a vtec head.

 

the b20b is the lower compression of the b20's theres the jdm b20z that has a 10.0:1 compression.

do yourself a favor and put a set of ARP rod bolts in and do the conversion to use a B16 head and go CRVtec

no reason just not really looking to spent to much money on the engine, which ever engine i go with will get the usual stuff like I/H/E, fuel system, clutch....yada yada yada...just the simple stuff, but i mean down the road i do want to boost it and maybe go with a vtec head... and i dont wanna b common haha

but either engine i go with the gsr tranny would be good to go? which tranny should i go with s80 or y80 whatever other ones there are.

im still really new to this stuff and i try to do a lot of research before i get into this stuff but any good info from experienced swappers would be greatly appreciated...

any good websites for jdm engines?

you dont usually need to mess with the fuel system with jsut I/H/E

its cool, i'm still learning ALOT too

but usually the only time you need to mess with your fuel system/how much fuel your putting into your engine is with some kind of F/I (turbo/supercharger) because of all the added air coming into the engine, you need fuel to match it.
