Tachometer
 
Does anyone know how or can post a DIY about wiring in a tachometer (RPM). I have a 98 dx and doesnt have a tach but need to know how to wire it into the distributor when i buy one, idk where to start...

both in the engine bay, on the driver side near the fender wall, and behind the engine temperature gauge cluster in the dash there will be a blue wire with a white or silver stripe up it, both of these are tachometer sensor wires. You can splice into those for the tach sensor

why dont you just buy a 96-00 ex stock cluster it has a tach built into it and will hook right up and no extra wiring is needed

speaking of tachometers what are normal readings for when the car is in park and stopped at lights etc.?

Between 600 and 800rpm, assuming the engine is at operating temperature and the A/C is not running. If the A/C is running or the engine is cold, it will idle higher.
