Throttle body spacer

I was just curious on how a throttle body spacer actually worked and how it creates more hp? Thanks

RE: Throttle body spacer

it has been discussed on here before, try a search. but i think they add more plenum volume than anything, they might help swirl air intot the intake, but on a honda your money is better spent somewhere else.

RE: Throttle body spacer

It swirls the air from the throttle body. But in order for it to really work well, you have to have the airaid one like I have. It comes with a little whistle that acts as another intake, so the air from the intake and the air from the spacer hit each other and brings it into a swirling pattern. Unfortunetly, I keep the whistle out of mine as it makes the car idle very weird. The Hp gains are pretty minimal, I'm getting rid of mine when I get a bored out tb and port matched intake manifold. Save your money and spend it on something better. It probably works better on bigger engines.
