Default timing

what does everyone set their timing to do they retard it or advance it because i just put 2 grand worth of internals in my car and i dont really feel that much of a difference besides it runs better. it feels like i gained maybe 20 whp when the intake mani and the cam should have given me that alone.

What engine? From what I have heard on a dual cam if you advance the intake cam and retard the exhaust cam you see the best gains. It allows the air/fuel to be most completely burned. Add some multi spark spark plugs/ignition and your in business.
