timing belt

Hey you all I need a new timing belt. I'm also throwing on my cam gear at the same time so I need an upgraded belt also. If you can send me a link. That would be great. I will be returning home back to Texas in a couple of months. If not sooner.

make sure to get a HONDA timing belt. I was going to do mine myself, but i found a shop that will do it for 200 bucks. If it costs 200 to stay outta the cold, then so be it lol.

you could get a nice aftermarket strong greddy one from...

its a little pricy but im sure it will last longer than the oem belt, but dont hold me to that, just another option

RE: timing belt

just go to honda and get the belt and watter pump and also change your watter pump at the same time

ok, im pretty sure both belts are 106 tooth, so either should work. if you want to spring for a kevlar reinfoced Greddy belt, let me know. they are pretty expensive though, and youll probably never need the extra strength.

So it doesnt matter if its a d16z or d16y. I want to be sure before I order it and then it dont fit. You know so I dont have to waste my money on something.

Yep, they are the same size timing belt, but the cam gears are different. Make sure you get the one for your motor or your cam timing will be off.

You could have taken the $200 you spent on paying for labor on the timing belt and bought a torpedo style heater. Used ones can be bought for like $100 that are a pretty high BTU. (I am assuming you have a cold garage like my self). I plan to get my self a 200K-300K BTU kerosene torpedo heater.

well my car is in texas with my brother. While I am over here in Kuwait, and it hardly gets cold but im not for sure because I am never in texas for a winter. Seeing that i am deployed so I have winters off for racing and most of car buying is during the winter anyway. So by the time I return the car is in better shape than it normally is.

holy crap. youd better have a big garage. we have 280k btu heaters for work, for drying paint or texture, and on low, you cant stay in the room for more than a few minutes at a time. that would be nice in a garage though, youd only need to run it for a few minutes now and then.:D

I have a two car garage that is not insulated. And it gets damn cold in Chicago, most of the winters its in the 20s if not colder. And im gonna get a 200K-300K cause im gonna try to get mine off a contractor, and thats what they use. I think that for my garage, 175K would prolly be good enough but i dunno if my contractor guy uses 175k. And its good to buy more BTU because you can always turn it down.
