Too many miles for turbo?
MY 94 civic hatch has 120,545 miles on it right now. Would it be worth boosting it or should I just swap out the motor? How long could I expect it too last once turbo'd on a low boost level (safe level) like 6psi? Is this too many miles already to bother? Thanks

RE: Too many miles for turbo?
get a compression test, that'll let you know what kinda shape your engine is in

RE: Too many miles for turbo?
actually I had one done a year ago when the car was bought, I will try to find the paper to see what it was at then.

if all the numbers are similar, you're good to go. Might wanna consider getting another one, have you run the engine hard in the last year? Wouldnt hurt....

RE: Too many miles for turbo?
I would at least prob do some internal upgrades just to be safe... cuz test can be wrong at times

RE: Too many miles for turbo?
i boosted mine with 170,000, ran good until i pulled it out. but do a compression check and if everythings good spend good money on the tune because thats what will tell you how long your engine will last

RE: Too many miles for turbo?
Buy a compression tester because if you are boosted it isn't a bad idea to do compression tests somewhat regularly. Maybe like every month or two. You don't need to but it would help with piece of mind.
