Took the car to the dealer..... yikes
My 2000 Civic Ex turned 100,000 miles and figured I best get the timing belt replaced. While they were replacing the timing belt, figured they might as well changed the water pump and the fluid. I brought the car in and told them to call me when the car was done, of course they never called me. When I called them at 1PM (brought car in at 7:30) they said it has been done for hours. I pay the 470 dollar bill and walk out the door.
I have been chasing a noise that my car has been making and come to find out it's coming from my Megan Racing header....(POS)! Brought my car over to my dads garage and we start ripping it apart to replace the gasket. My dad looks over the work they did on my car and noises that a sensor is rubbing on the drive belt. There are fingers on the side of the timing cover that this sensor wire locks into, but the mechanic failed to put it away. The belt wore right through the wire loom and right into the wires. This was a Monday afternoon, called the dealer and they said they would have to order the part. I brought the car in on that Friday and they said they didn't know if they would replace the sensor or not. After waiting in the waiting room, they tell me the part was never ordered!
Last Monday they finally got the part in and I brought my car in on Thursday. Pull in the service center and no one knows why I am there! They were suppose to have a rental car for me, no one knew anything about it! They finally got me a rental car and everything was replaced.
I got to drive a 2007 Honda Accord with the IVTEC DOHC, think it was a 2.4? Damn car was fast, very nice car, but sucked gas like water!
Make sure you over look the work your mechanic did before you leave!!!!! I was told if this wire would have cut all the way through, that the car would have died and wouldn't run till it was replaced. It ended up being the crank sensor.
