Default Top End/Bottom End

I really don't know....so inform me please.

1. What exactly determine's top end speed or bottom end speed. I think it has to deal with torque, but not sure, and can I get a little bit of an explination.

2. What honda motor accelerates faster while traveling on a freeway? Let's say from 65 mph.

Your questions are a bit to brod but I'll take a stab at it. to get more bottom end speed you need a tq curve with it's peak number as low as you can get it. The tq curve directly affects low end grunt. Better top end is with the peak hp figure as high in a rpm range as you can get it. I'll take 2 fairly equall cars 1/4 mile wise that do it at different points for an example.

1986 Buick Regal Grand National 0 to 60mph 4.9 - 1/4 mile e.t. 13.9
2004 Dodge SRT-40 to 60mph5.3 - 1/4 mile e.t 13.9

The Buick has a larger engine that produces more tq in the lower rpm's and it has a faster 0 to 60mph time but the SRT4 makes up for what it lost from 60mph on as they both end up with the same 1/4 mile time.

As far as you question on which honda engine pulls hardest from a roll I cant answer that because way to much gets thrown into it like transmission gearing, what gear your in, what rpm you are at, what size tires you have, so on and so forth.

wow...i didn't realize my question was so broad. i guess thereare a lot that goes into it. but hey, thanks for giving me a response. and the reason i asked was cause iwas wondering if i should look for something with a little more torque since i live in cali with a lot of stop-n-go, you know, to get off the line quick to try to beat the next light, or get in front of a slow moving car.

i was wanting more of a GSR or ITR swap. from what i've been reading, they're easier to swap and more rev happy.

h22 has better tq and is better in stop and go traffic but in the end it's up to you.
