tuning question
when i do a motor swap, does the motor have to be "tuned" once everything is installed,somebody told me it does cause the ecu that comes with the swap migth have different maps on it from a previous tuner or something, how true is this

well...that depends. It's best to have it tuned IMO. Unless, for instance, its an OBD2b motor going into an OBD2b car with the correct OBD2b ecu, in which case everything matches perfectly
Just be sure that the ECU you get is NOT chipped, if it is, chances are its got someone else's map, and will need to be reburned |

they could do that, but if you get a stock ecu, then it should have stock maps, unless its chipped already. but they prolly meant to have it tuned for more power...like sure, if you swap to a b18c1 and have the matching STOCK ecu, its going to run fine and give you good power, BUT, you can still tweak it a little more for some more power.
