Valve Adjustment
Hey i have a 90% stock ej2 (yes the little d15b7) and it has 108,000 on it. I bought a valve cover at a junkyard and refinished it (so i could drive my car while cleaning and painting the valve cover) Im finished painting the valve cover (pix soon to come) and i bought all new gaskets and grommets and such and was wondering if there is anything i should do before sealing it all back up, such as a valve adjustment). is there anything else i should know before ripping into this?
Thx |
A Cover is a cover, i'm pretty sure you should be able to switch one for the other with no problem. if you want to do valves it's up to you in all honestly. just make sure you know what you're doing before attempting.

don't forget to used liquid gasket on the corners and the arches as the stock gasket fails to seal properly most of the time. :(

Make sure the engine is overnight cold prior to adjusting the valve clearance.

honda recomends a lifter check every 15k, if your head sounds noisy at idle then they need to be adjusted, if not then leave them be.

I'd check it. Even though it's quite. If you already have the valve cover off, what's wrong with slipping the feeler gauge to check lash?
