vtec head problem need help

well, i ordered a vtec head today and the guy wrote a letter in the package saying one valve, the retainers and the vtec solenoid top were missing... to compensate he sent me the distributor, a momo shift kno and boost controller which i have no use for... he said i can use the valve and retainers from the head im taking off my engine to replace... its a b7 noin vtec head... can i and should it affect perfromance??? ui feel cheated as he did not say this 2 me.. should i just return it?

isnt the solenoid like one of the main components? I'm not sure, but it doesnt seem like you should be able to use the same valves or retained. By b7 do you mean b17? And what head is it actually?

oooh my bad man.....well d15 and d16 are have two different size cylinders dont they? One's 1.5 liter and the other is 1.6 right? So the VTEC solenoid is not usable at all then? You should definately have him replace the valve and retainers, i dont get how they could send you a head and not include one valve and ALL the retainers and expect not to replace them?

That is complete BS.You can use your old valve/spring/retainers, but if you couldn't, even stock replacement retainers are like 90 bucks.

I know you specifically asked him if the head was complete before you bought it (and is indicated by his auction pic). You should demand at least a partial refundto save yourself the headache and shipping of returning it.If he won't agree to itcontact ebay and Paypalto open a dispute. They have resolutions just for these types of situations. It's a pain, but the buyer has more rights than the seller.

Then try to track down a used solenoid with the refund. I have a spare parts head if you need some pieces.
