dude o dont think you vtec isnt working, in the past day i had that problem too and i finally solve it and was just my imagination. first you have to wait your car to warm up.. is your car Manua trasmision??? if no well you wont hear vtec activation in neutral but it kick in neutras. if is manua well i dont recment to try it on first gear so when on second push the gas as deep as posible and listen for changes in the sound like about 4,800 or above, remember turn off the A/C and with hte windows closes you will hear it better. of you dont notice change that i really doubt becasue you engine has a really really loud vtec sound well put and intake and you should hear it louder, if no well install the vtec ligth .. i do it and it work and i have a weak d16z6 soch vtec

Vtec kicks in at 5500 on the B16a2. If your ecu is not letting you hit vtec it will limit it at 5K I beleive, so you wouldent be able to hit redline. What mods do you have???
