RE: well b20b

I can already tell you need to do a LOT or research. The stickies at the top of the forum are a good place to start. b20..lot of torque, kinda low hp and doesnt rev nearly as high as the other b-series engines, but it can be an extremely potent platform to build on. No, it wont bolt up to your tranny

Well good choice man. Here are some tips to start you off. BTW, I have more experience with B20B/B20VTEC swaps then any other engine (I have done 3). The engine has gobs of torque on hand, dont bother down shifting to pass, just hit the gas and go, its really very fun to drive in stock form, the car gets up and goes off the line like you would not believe. I was with a friend the other night when he dynod a B20B that we swapped a few weeks ago. The engine is stock with only I/H/E and he put down 158whp and 131 tq. With a built B20VTEC you can see around 200-220whp and 140-160wtq.

Tranny: The best trans for the B20B is the GSR (B18C) imo. It gives you shorter gears then the LS (B18B) trans but taller gears then the B16 trans. The B16 gears are ok for a track car but on the highway for a daily driver they are ****ing hell on earth. One B20B I did has a B16 trans and it revs at about 4500 rpm in 5th going 60mph. Make sure you can get an LSD in your trans if you can cause that torque needs it bad.

Revving: Yes the engines redline is 6300 rpm but with after market internals and a block girdle it can be safe to rev the engine like any other imo.

VTEC: You can install a VTEC head on the engine and make nice power. A b16 or B18C head are the choices for this.

There is ALOT of info you need to look over and a few choices that need to be made. Some B20B engines come with an intake mani that will not fit in the car, you need a stock LS mani for that. You also need a 96+ LS ECU, mounts, linkage, maybe a harness, axles.
