then y waste money on stupid bolt-ons that dont give any real hp gains. You could spend $500 bucks on a header or put $500 bucks toward a used turbo or maybe a new one. To get the most of your bolt ons your going to need to get the car tuned, just like for a turbo so there is really no point in wasting the money if you are just going to turbo later on. What you could do is start buying ignition parts, exhaust, new spark plug wires, get a compression test, make sure you arent burning oil, get a better clutch, read a few books, then start building.

very good advice
definitely prepare before you turbo i.e. read books and online posts and stuff, get a better clutch, and make sure the engine is in good condition.

also, take care of every single maintenance item you need before you start buying any turbo parts. This is a good idea, because if you wait to take care of maintenance problems, you'll end up never doing them because you'll always need the money for a turbo part or something else. Take care of priorities first.
