i had the same dilema with my 95 dx coupe. if youre not looking to spend the money on a motor swap or FI, then look into a mini-me vtec head swap. you should be able to get everything you need for under 500 bucks. another option is to swap in the whole sohc vtec swap, with a d16z6, all you need is the motor with all attached accessories, your tranny will work but the z6 tranny has better gearing, and the ecu, then run a couple of wires. you should be able to find everything with a yahoo or google search

you could always upgrade the ECU, grounding kit, stuff like that. Have you gotten into suspension yet??

Those are your best bets. If possible, do the dohc swap.

yeah, the immediate power gains are great with the DOHC, but the real worth of the b-series is in the potential power of the motors, you can build the hell out of a d16z6 and run the crap out of gsr swapped civics, but then they drop in a set of cams and a thin head gasket and theyll walk away from you. the best way to do it is to set up the suspension and brakes first, to handle the newfound power. i would have gone more in depth with my suspension and little stuff first, but a spun rod bearing required a new engine sooner than i planned.

Save your money and get a motor swap. That is the best bang for the buck. The best power adder for a sohc is Nos or Turbo.

b16a2, preferably jdm (technically called the b16a 2nd gen) or obd1 gsr. any post 94 b-series would be pretty easy. the obd1 would be easier though (and cheaper).
