isnt there a F22C1 (the engine in the 2nd gen s2000) RWD Civic out there somewhere?

 

it won't be real expensive to build a old rat rod style street rod with an s2000 engine if you have the engine and fabrication skills to mount it. the hardest part would be a custom driveshaft to the rear end.

 

no way. I know a bunch of people who make those all the time. just find the off-roaders in your area. they can make anything

 

id say the 7, or a mg or mgb as a sleeper form, u can bring the s2k driveshaft to any weldin shop and have them line measure cut and weld the new one from the pumpkin of the rear end ur putting it in

I agree, in the whole outlook of things there are much better engines to build a custom rat rod or street car around. If I were to build a car like this I would choose a 2JZGTTE, a RB16DETT, or even a LS2 or LS6


2JZGTTE = 95-97 TT Supra swap

RB26DETT = R34 GTR Skyline swap

LS2 and LS6 = GM Swaps(LS2 is in the GTO's and 2000+ Base model Vette and the LS6 is in the C5 Z06 Vettes)

 

Weight, cost, and space are all things to consider.

No. You're thinking of the NSX. The S2k is FR.

 

the reason for a old dirt track/sprint car is because they were 4 cylinder cars, v8's didn't show up in rods till the late 30's so a modern 4 cylinder in a old sprint car is a cool concept
