I agree, in the whole outlook of things there are much better engines to build a custom rat rod or street car around. If I were to build a car like this I would choose a 2JZGTTE, a RB16DETT, or even a LS2 or LS6
2JZGTTE = 95-97 TT Supra swap
RB26DETT = R34 GTR Skyline swap
LS2 and LS6 = GM Swaps(LS2 is in the GTO's and 2000+ Base model Vette and the LS6 is in the C5 Z06 Vettes)

if i were to build a custom street car id go with the 2JZ (ps what does the GTTE mean on there? all i know about toyota engines is the 2JZ was in the last supra)

I have a 1979 MGB that I'm doing an s2000 motor swap on. The F20C is pretty close to the original engine, just has three times the horsepower. If you don't have a really good shop to do this in, don't mess with it. I'm a licensed aircraft mechanic with lots of fabrication experience, and it is quite a challange for me -- even with a car lift, shop air, a full set of tools, welder, and a 10,000 square foot shop to work in.
Something else to remember when considering the F20C is that the ECU box from Honda won't let you start the car without the chipped key and receiver from the steering column, and the body harness with the wiring to the ECU. -- The only work-around that I've found for this is an aftermarket ECU from AEM -- which will run you another $1,300...
So this isn't a cheap project... so far I have the cost of the car, the motor, the AEM ECU...
coming up I'll need ... a Quaif LSD, rear disk brake upgrade, high-output fuel pump, custom exhaust fabrication, driveshaft fabrication, and a custom radiator... anything else I forgot? Probably lots of stuff I haven't even thought of yet... Oh yeah, don't forget paint!
My guess is that I'll have more into the project than a used S2K would cost, but that isn't the point of this project...
The point is to have a 240 hp MGB with a six speed transmission -- the ultimate sleeper car (but someone already said that...)
