what to do to a d16y8

ok well in my 96 si i plan on doing an intake, header, and exhaust. i dont think i'll ever do an engine swap or turbo or anything, so im wondering what else can be done after the I/H/E is done. i heard something about like getting new plugs or something but im not sure lol. any feedback would be great just wondering if there's anything else to increase performance after those 3 things. thanks!;)

Well, you could get new cam gears, performance pulleys, camshafts, and stuff like that. They'll help a little.

thanks vilex. also i have one more dumb question but since im new i can ask :)

when installing a new header, i notice from most of the pics that the heat shield is off. is this just to show the rest of us the actual header and then you put the heat shield back on? or do you leave it off when a new header is installed?

The head shield is off because on the aftermarket header, there usally isnt a bracket for the heat shield. Also make sure to not get any human oils on the header, like dont touch it bare with your hands.. and if you do make sure it gets wiped off properly.
