well guys and gals, im a teenager lol with a part time job and i want to do a motor swap in my 97" dx. But i don make very much money so i want somthing thats going to give my car some balls but not cost me alot... like somthing under 2k. could anyone let me know what engine to go with and/or give me a good website i can buy off that would be awesome. :) thanks

How much more power do you want? You could do a mini-me for pretty cheap and get about 26HP, and VTEC, and then use the rest of the money on whatever. I/H/E, if you don't already have them.

Save up $3000 more than think about doing a swap. Even a b18b engine which has more power than your engineand is the cheaper of the swaps"no vtec". It's still going to cost you over $2000 for the engine plus shipping and extras.....It's a complicated thing unless you have experience. Labor is going to cost a lot unless you do it yourself. Most of the information you need is on this site, just search around and browse.

If you really want to do a swap just save up and research! good luck!

B20B with a GSR trans and you have one of the best base set ups to build off of, also you have a fast stock engine. I solda b20b stock to a friend and with I/H/E he made 158whp and 132wtq with no vtec. Dynod last night at 3 am lol. $500 bucks will get you a b20b.

Can you put a vtec head on a b20b? Where did you find that engine for that price?

legal: lost is referring to the b20b he was talking about earlier. 500 for the engine alone leaves you 3500 for the tranny, a new head, and anything else you want to attach to it.
