I'm sure this has been asked before, but I wasn't able to search through and find the answer I'm looking for.

I currently own an 81 Civic Wagon with the 1.5 L 5 speed combo. My mechanic has informed me that I have low compression and therefore low on power. What I would like to do is to swap engines, but keep the original tranny for simplicity sake. It only has 92,000 on it, so that part is quite smooth. I've read enough on line to know that mine is a 2nd generation and that currently I have an EF engine. I hope to get a response that tells me what I can put in in terms I understand. There are a lot of knowledgeable Honda folks out there that may respond with all sorts of letters and numbers and that's fine except that it will take additional ciphering to figure out what this all means. Please let me know what my donor car should be. I realize I may need to do some mods, but that's the price you hafta pay to turn heads!!! [8D]

Obviously, I picked the wrong forum to ask this question! Had I asked what color to paint my valve covers, or how much boost can a b1ab Vtec over bored, under stroked 93 DOHC motor will take, I would have had a gazilion responses to it.[:@]

 

Sometimes you just have to bump your thread. Id give advice, but I dont have the expertise to be passing info out about engine swaps and such. Everyone on here is normally very responsive, probably just missed it. Someone will get to you. I think hailchristian has an EF. maybe he could help. PM him?
