I bought a while ago a 94 cx 3 doors hatchback used to call it my warp machine.
now I bought a 2002 civic coupe i call it the cow.
Both are manual .. Why so much difference in acceleration. Takes more gaz and less power
Are we going backward.

ur old motor prolly needed to be cleaned up internaly........so the new ones is better for u

Dude the stock version of your 1994 cx has an D15B8-1.5 liter, SOHC, eight valve MPFI, and it cranked out 70 hp. This car was also one of the top three best gas mileage vehicles for any compact car from 93 to 95. Hybrid guys use them for paper weights. You were not exact with what type of coupe but ur stock version comes with an D17A1 and D17A2 depending on the type but it is a 1.7 liter, DOHC VTEC and it cranks out depending on your type of coupe 115 to 127 hp. These civics are heavier. Hope this helps bro.

Hi guy I got a bigger problem now my 94 cx with 550k km smell bad at a stop light , oil smell.
if you open the oil filling cap it blows quite a bit. The motor does not shake at idle so I assume that all
pistons need new rings. and a head gasket . can this be done without pulling the motor out.

that would be quite a task... but i dont know anyone who has ever not pulled a motor to change rings... and if you cange the rings, you better get the block atleast cleaned a bit. if you dont. your new rings will slap the old ring groove, and that wouldnt be good.

There's no sense in tryin to replace rings without pullin the engine.
If you're gonna replace the rings, you had better replace a few other parts as well as clean the engine.

yeah i agree. workin on bottom end while its in the car is a bitch. and replacing the rings isnt gunna do much without a good cleaning anyways...itd definatley be worth the time of pulling it out and everything
