Where can I get these parts? D16 Engine
 

Hey, I've been searching for an upgraded crankshaft for the D16 engine and can't seem to find one. Can someone give me a link to where I would be able to buy one? Also, what's a good camshaft for higher horsepower? And do they make a complete upgraded valve train or would I have to buy it piece by piece? Thanks!

Why do you need an upgraded crank? What are you attempting to do? I would suggest to contact Eagle to see if they can offering anything for you. Most Civic owners just have the stock crank knife edged to make everything lighter.

A cam on a stock Civic D series will not help much in power. You need raise compression to really maximize the gains you can have with a cam. What are you planning on doing with the car? I personally had a stage 2 crower cam, and a Stage 2.3 Bisimoto cam in my D series years ago.

I am sure vendors make package deals, but it isn't too hard to by everything separately. You need a cam, valve springs, possibly valves if you choose, and valve stem seals if you want. Can't think of anything else you need for "upgraded valvetrain". Hopefully you plan on tuning this if you are looking to upgrade everything for more power. N/A D series do not make much power, so don't get your hopes up unless you plan on boosting ;)

But you think that a stock crank can hold 400hp? Also, do you know of a website where i can get a high air flow head? And will the stock transaxle be able to hold 400 hp? Were dumping a lot of money into this by the way.

I really wish I didn't click that link. I would skip all that exterior and lighting stuff and keep it clean. Those wings look terrible IMO.

You can send the head to a porting place for something like this. Already ported heads are not sold like you would find turbos or lighting etc. Yes, the transmission should have no problem at 400hp. Crank should be fine too. if you are going 400hp on a D series, I would expect you to be sleeving the blocks?

Actually what i meant by high air flow head is the valve ports are much much wider which would also require bigger valves. And what would advantage do cylinder sleeves have?

You need to research. Sleeves are essential if you plan on making a 300+whp D series. They are to prevent from damage occuring to keep it short. Sleeving a motor is something a machine shop must do. Not cheap.

You want bigger valves? Go for it.

just a thought, before you throw lots of money at a motor why not throw some money at gaining some knowledge, a fully built motor is great but whats the point if you dont know what built means? Knowing a term used when building or the name of a part will not make for a satisfying expirence unless your goal is just to see how much money you can throw at a motor.
If thats the case then build away! I would love to see a civic with a F22 Raptor jet engine!!! lol
