Where can I learn about swaps?

1 Attachment(s)
So after hearing all this stuff about E/H/I don't really get anywhere as far as HP gain I am thinking of saving up for a swap, but I am completely clueless as to what to do. Where did you guys learn about your swaps and could you please post some links to sites / guides you used in the past? I found this site JSA Motors and they have a Matrix guide as to what goes with what.

For instance I have a 97 Civic EX if I wanted to a B16A the site recommands not to get a 89-91 B16A instead get a 92-95 or 96-00 B16A correct? Am I reading this right? However, I don't see a 96-00 B16A motor. Secondly where are these motors coming from? Are they just from junkyarded SI's or Type R's? As you can see I am so very very lost and I don't plan on making this swap anytime soon. Maybe in the spring but I would really like to get started at taking a look at things and doing price checks etc... Thanks for the help fellas.

RE: Where can I learn about swaps?

truthfully they are junkyard motors...there from japan junkyards..they look down on hondas over there...and if anything is wrong wit them theres always a 30 day warranty on those engines...so w/e brakes internally they replace...if your lookin for great power gains you gotta b willin to spend money on the motor u want...and b perfect for...bang for your buck gsr..real power k 20..((def not cheap))...labor wise...depends on who..no unless your able to do it yourself and save alotta money...and btw obd2 b16's aren't really that popular good luck finding 1..u prob would tho...my opinion go for a gsr...or ls reliable cheap motor

Anyone know of a site to buy these motors from? All you swapers out there where did you pick up your motor from? I'm going to be doing a little bit more googling from now on till I get this stuff soaked in my head.
