where are codes on engine
Hey guys need major help! I have a 1999 SI. Its suppose to have a b16a in it but where you are suppose to find the number on the block in front somebody scribed b18c in it. I am wondering if there is another place on the block to find a code to see what I have for an engine? Any information would be great.

RE: where are codes on engine
I don't think it's on there anywhere else. But look at this picture, you can see the blocks themselves are different heights. This should help: http://www.ff-squad.com/tech/block/b...ckheight_1.jpg

RE: where are codes on engine
Thanks for the information. That helps alot. This may be a stupid question but will any b18c parts be able to be used on it stock or aftermarket? Or do i have to figure out what year it is from? I am wondering do to my oil pan leaks and we put a b16a one on and my mechanic says he needs to know what year the engine came from.

RE: where are codes on engine
so you have a JDM engine.
you need a "P72" oil pan. That will be out of a US Integra Type-R or GSR a lot of b-series stuff is interchangeable. Post pic tures of your engine bay, I'll tell you what I can... |
RE: where are codes on engine
Thanks again. I will post pics as soon as i get them which will be in a day or two. So you think I might have the wrong type of oil pan? Or could it be leaking due to the fact that i put a b16 gasket on? Thanks again, You have been alot of help.
