Z6-Y8 Can I use this

Going to put a P/P Z6 head on my Y8. But i have a Y8 ZEX cam, can i use that cam with a skunk2 cam gear? What timing belt should i use? Also would like to bump the CR with a thinner head gasket. What engine should the gasket be for and what thickness? anything else i should know?

RE: Z6-Y8 Can I use this

All very good questions.

As far as I know, the two cams are interchangeable, but you will a y8 cam gear becasue the there is a 4.25* difference in the two. Both timing belts have 104 teeth however.

I believe you also need the studs for the Z6. There is some fitment issue with the stud in the corner by the vtec solenoid.

You are going to have to use your y8 dizzy.

As far as the head gasket goes, they will both work but hte y8 is a little thinner I think which will result in a little higher compression.
