Default zc specs?

i have been searching all over the place to find the answer to this. my buddy swapped a zc into his 93 ex, as far as we know its stock components from japan, ie. no mods done to it. he raced my 2000 si and we were about equal, im pretty sure its sohc, but the hp is like 135 as far as i can find. so here is the question why is it keeping up with my dohc with i/h/e? the only thing i could find is that the dohc zc has 170hp but as i said this looks like sohc as far as i can tell. HELP!

the dohc zc does not have 170hp and the reason he is keeping up with you 1)weight, 2)B16's only put down around 20 to 25more hp to the wheels as a ZC and all of that is after 5500rpm, 3)the D has aflatter tq curve.

yes johnny i came up empty handed from wiki. and on a jdm web site i found the dohc zc with 170 and other web sites, but i also found some web site saying 160. but the torque curve difference does explain a little

B16's suck unless they are built or have turbo/supercharger/nitrous. And why would he swap a ZC into his 93 ex? The d16z6 is a much better motor for a 5th gen and its got around the same amount of power. Doesnt make any sense.

and actually the b16 is a sweet engine, and boost isnt the all mighty answer to everything, as lately everyone seems to be saying.

dude my lil brother had a zc in his 92 hatch and i have a gsr motor in my si. when we would race he would hold with me til i topped out 3rd gear and left him. at first i thought somthing was wrong with my car but came to the realization that them are just good motors.
