the piston speeds would obliterate that motor in a matter of seconds. the stroke is too long to handle an 8k redline. its possible with a full build, Skunk2 did it, but i dont have as much money as they do, i dont know about anyone else...

K24 bottom ends extra displacement comes in the form of stroke not different pistons. The K24 hold 8000rpm just fine but is not put into a sports car so there is no need for it to be able to rev that high

The stock K24's rev to 7000rpm(redline) and the rev limiter grabs at 7400ish rpm, the K20A head will be ok with that and it is well worth the swap because you get a good 50 more ft lbs of tq on top of about 40 more hp
still, revving to 8k on that block is pushing it. i guess longetivity is too much of a concern for me. now, most peopel who are doing these hybrids are setting the redline closer to the 7k than 8k, so if you do that, then its feasible, but i personally would rather have a 2.0 that revs to 8500 happily, than a 2.4l that grudgingly revs to 7500. but i have never been a huge fan of displacemnet over revs.
