Rear Bumper Removal (96-00 Civic)

4 Attachment(s)
Here's another life saving DIY written by HCF's own WellFedHobo.

There are a few reasons to remove your rear bumper, like to add a lip or to mess with your exhaust. Whatever the reason, it's at least stupid easy to do. It's basically a 4 step process.

Tools needed:
Flathead screwdriver
Phillips screwdriver
Possibly other tools to remove screws if your bumper has been modified from stock

Note:
Please excuse the mess that is my trunk. All the carpet on my sub boxes has started to fall off so the presentation isn't what it used to be.
Also, this DIY can be used for EG, EM, etc Civics because they're all attached in similar fashions.

Steps:
1. Remove the two screws on each side. The first one is right at the top of the side of each bumper. I didn't get a picture of it on the car but the location is pictured. The second one is pictured circled below.

2. Remove the two clips on the underside of the bumper. They'll either be the type you pry off with a flathead or the type that unscrews with a phillips.

3. Remove the 5 clips from the middle of the bumper.

4. Pull.

...Really, that's it. Boom. It's off. Go do what you were going to do with the bumper.
