02 Civic ex giving me ac problems

I have ac problem that I have never had before. At idle the compressor runs just fine, running about 55 to 60 mph and the ac will freeze you to the point of setting it on low. But if you get on the interstate running 70 or faster (constant speed) the compressor cuts on and off constantly. One minute blowing cold the next blowing hot. As soon as I get off the interstate and run the speeds of 55 to 60 it will freeze you again. Im gonna start breaking down the chart and see what I can find, has anyone else had this problem?

That is odd, but whenever someone talks about the compressor not engaging consistently, I think of the compressor clutch gap first. Take some of the shim washers out from behind the clutch plate and test drive again. You can remove and replace the clutch plate from underneath the car with the compressor installed and the system charged.

Forgot to mention

This compressor has been working fine for 3 years. But I forget to mention I had a freon leak on the lower side hose. After replacing it I took it to my local shop so they could vacuum and charge my system. This problem didnt start until after they charged it, so now Im leaning on maybe they overcharged the system. You know how finicky a honda is with freon, takes very little and if you go a little overboard it acts the same if undercharged.
