100k+ Civic.

Hello,

I'm a new member of the Forum and my name is Mike. Recently I lost my old Honda CR-V in an accident. Now I'm looking for small commuter car to go to work every day. So, i decided to go with a Civic. I alwase liked Civics, specially those from the late 90-s.My budget is 5-6K $. For this amount of money I can get Civic which have more then 100k miles on odometer. My Q is:how good are these cars? Is it possible to buy a good and reliable Civic for a money I'm willing to spend? I think I should ask a Civic enthusiast first.
Thank you.

Civics are one of the most reliable USED cars on the road. But if you're not careful to check certain thing before you buy one..you'll end up with another bill for problems later on. Check EVERYWHERE for any kinds of leaks(don't fall for the seller saying.."Oh that's just temporary..it'll go away!"). Check for anything that's coming apart or cracked EVERYWHERE..especially the engine! If you got a tool box then bring that sucker.

Civics go 300k if taken well care of & sometimes beyond......So if you don't race it & be good to it.It'll have a long life with you!

We bought two Civics with 250K on the clock with no problems. Had them 3 years, still going strong. Every Civic I have driven has had over 100K on it. And wow, that's... 7 Civics for the family, all of them rebuilt from front end collisions and all of them over 100K.

As long as you have a maintenance history on them, you're good to go.
