High pitched squeel coming from brakes......need help
Hey guys, my g/f has a 2006 honda civic 2 door coupe and there is a terrible sqeak / squeal coming from her front brakes. It only happens when the car is started and moved cold. After about 15 minutes or so, it goes away......but it also goes away when the brakes are applied. Just rolling out of the driveway in reverse, the squeak happens and as soon as you just tap the brake ever so slightly...it goes away.
She has 55k miles and is on her second set of brake pads. The dealership suckered her into getting a second set of brake pads around 25k miles........they said the new civics go through pads quickly...sounds like pure BS to me, but is there something with the brakes on the 06' coupess that i dont know about?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Check the pads again. They have a squeaker device that intentionally makes noise to tell you when they are about worn out.
You can check the amount of pad material left yourself. Jack up the car and remove the wheel as if changing a flat tire, then visually inspect the sides and through the slot on the caliper.
