Default 170k and it finally died

Not the engine, the alternator. My girl was on her way home last night from work when the alternator finally gave out. I didnt know if it was the stock one or not but it sure enough was. Sacs and I swapped it out for a new one tonight and I think it was still in working condition, just the plug was full of corrosion. 170k on an alternator is not bad though. Outlasted the ignitor and the battery, but not the clutch!

Toyota Alternators have 150k lifespans...they all will last within 5k of that.....i have had 2 from new and both fell right in that time frame....most likely all you had to do is clean it up and replace the brushes and bushings and it would run another 170k.
