hi i got a 1987 civic dx with a 1.5l and carb i would like to know if there was a way to put in a more modern more powerfull honder engine in this car ( like the honda fit or acura or newer vtech) i just wont to make this car a sleeper because this car was rusty jones and some how survived over 23 years and i wont this car all tricked out performance wise but the stock motor is not cutting it so any help with this would be nice thanks

Hi,
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=1987+civic+engine+swap
It is a fair amount of fabrication, I've heard.
Also, this section of the forums is not really a place for general questions...
Please read the rules!
Sounds like a good project car though...
Just from reading a few links though, the D16a1 is a good choice of swap.
Or an Integra motor.

I believed you have a typo, i think you mean the B16a1 :)

Nope, I meant the D16a1. It's an early Integra motor.

That'll give an idea of what needs to be done. CRX is very similar to Civic.

Oh and a simple mistake you made which many newbies make; it's not vtech that's company makes phones, it's vtec.

1: you've posted in the wrong thread, for asking questions you post in the tech forum or other sub threads, this thread is for someone to post pics and details on their project progress.
2: you have a carb crx, you will need to find another 85-87 crx that is fuel injected and convert your entire fuel system over, first.
3: i had a 85 crx si there isnt really any swaps availible unless you are ready for some serious modifications, since they have a totally different motor and mounts, and structure.
