I got the 3/4 wrench for the filter. What size is the bolt on the fuel line?

just checked and the banjo bolt is 17mm, the small fuel pressure relief bolt on top of the banjo bolt is 12mm, and then the other fuel line bolt is 14mm.

Weird thing happen after I drove the car just now. The speedometer started jumping sporadically and the odometer and tripmeter turned a full three miles. Not exactly the miles that I drove the car which were about 90. It started the first moment I saw the speedometer jumped, then very slowly the trip meter turned for a whole 3.8 miles. Does that mean that the gauge works?

Sounds like an intermittent connection somewhere. Could be the connection at the Vehicle Speed Sensor (or the sensor itself), could be at the instrument cluster, or it could be inside the instrument cluster itself.

When you get the time, I would look into checking all of the connections on that circuit, and ensure wiring is in good order and connectors are free of corrosion and/or funk.

If you got lucky, maybe cleaning up a connection or two will have it working again.

Good luck.

How'd the fuel filter turn out? Did it improve on your symptoms at all?

I haven't install the fuel filter. I got my wrenches but, today was too late in the day. I will give it a go tomorrow. But, since putting back the old one together from when I tried to remove it, the car starts and I don't smell gas anymore, and I feel like I am getting better mileage too.

And as far as the gauge cluster, I had remove it and put it back in remember. From that time I had not drive the car until today. I guess I did something good to have gotten at least this result. I am thinking about the wiring but each time I try to figure out how its run, I give up. The wire seem to go way under the motor and tied up with some other wires and I just don't know which is which. The wiring seem to be the most difficult part. The speed sensor at least I can see and reach to fix it.

The fuel filter is in. I installed it myself. Now the next step is to fix the head gasket.

Hey guys, so this week coming I plan on getting the head gasket parts to replace in my car and doing a full tune up. What are the tools that I need for the head gasket repair and hte tune up parts.

P.S. the fuel filter replacement apparently didn't exactly fix the starting problem. I am thinking maybe the tune up, changing of the spark plugs will change that. Any ideas? Thanks

Tune up might help, yeah.

Tools required are just sockets, ratchet, extensions, screwdrivers, pliers (for hose clamps). That's about it.
