You know it's a Y7 how? No VTEC? How would you know what the block is? Or must you match a Y7 head with a Y7 or Y8 block?

Yea there's no VTEC solenoid so it's a Y7. I'm assuming the block is a Y7... it most likely is though.

Gotcha.

I think FRZ has a lot of work to do to get everything in order under the hood. By the look of things, there may also be some surprises awaiting him.

If I had to guess, I'd say that car has almost definitely been boosted, then blew a motor, then had a y7 swapped in.

Check out the ECU, figure out which one you have. Also, crack it open and see if its been chipped. If it has, it will look like this..

If you see that chip, I would get into contact with the seller and figure out who/where it was tuned.

IMO, I'd resell that thing ASAP, and never look back.

Are you saying that they sold me a stolen car? How could they have registered it? I bought the car on craiglists three weeks ago just before I came to this forum and I didn't even think of that. The registration they gave me say that they had the car for at least two years or so.

That doesn't sound very good.

Sorry dude, car-gay slang.. Boosted = Turbocharged

Reason I say that, is because turbo charging a Honda is the #2 reason most people pull their A/C stuff. Need the space to work in most turbo setups.

#1 reason, of course, is that ricers are stupid and they think it reduces a crazy amount of weight an produces and extra eleventybillion horsepower

I agree with Forty. The car has potential to turn into your worst nightmare.

I agree with all the above. Looks like a ticking timebomb to me... but then again, I bought one too and fixed all the problems... it's been a money pit though

Oh ok. Had me worried there for a minute. Well, if that is what they did, they obviously removed all of it before selling. In that case, I expected to have some problems, parts needed, a lot of TLC, etc, I will take my time and fix it little by little. I don't plan on driving it every day and that should give me some time to fix, hopefully most of the problems. I live in the city right now and public transportation is way cheaper than driving everyday back and forth, so I am in no rush. Only in a few months down the road I plan on moving to a more suburban area that I will need it more.
