1997 Civic EX - Adding Trunk Actuator

I was thinking of adding a trunk actuator to my 1997 Civic EX Coupe, the only problem appears to be access to the release bar on the lock versus placement of the actuator. Would it be better if I removed the plastic/fiberglass piece that the license plate attaches to so that I can install the actuator in there? If not, it looks as though I am going to have a hard time getting parallel placement of the actuator to the release bar if I install it underside of the trunk lid because the dang latch itself will get in the way.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks,

Chris

RE: 1997 Civic EX - Adding Trunk Actuator

i dont know what your trunk looks like or even of you have a cable trunk release, but get another trunk release cable find a way to connect it to the one on the latch already, then cut the new release cable, attach it to the accuator, then mount it some where hidin in the trunk. just get a accuator the will pull hard enough. and by leaving your stock cable attached. if your accuator goes out you can still get in the trunk or with key, just my thoughts.
